Messiaen: Vingt Regards sur l’Enfant-Jesus
A unique, intertwining performance, combining movements of the Vingt Regards with brand new works for piano, inspired by some of the poetry and art commissioned for Messiaen 2015. These special works will be written and performed by new postgraduate composers and pianists at Guildhall School, after a fortnight spent exploring Messiaen’s music and the commissions with Cordelia Williams.
The concert will be interspersed with readings of the poems and display of the paintings selected by the composers as their starting point.
